ASPIRE President Hosts Freshman Conversation with Author Rebecca Skloot

 ASPIRE President, Quindara Lazenbury, introduced UD President Patrick Harker, to begin the recent presentation by author Rebecca Skloot, who spoke to UD freshmen on October 13.  Ms. Skloot, author of this year’s common reader, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, spoke about her expereinces in writing the book and about her life as a very independent student.  She credited her curiosity and unwillingness to accept “no” or “no information known” as an answer with her success in researching and writing the story of the Lacks family. 

Quindara was one of two students appointed to pose questions that were submitted by freshmen to Ms. Lacks after the presentation.
